Sajal Baghpat Abhiyaan
On Tuesday, May 3, 2022, under the “Sajal Baghpat Abhiyan”, the District Magistrate, Mr. Rajkamal Yadav, started the renovation work of the Budheda drain with the aim of recharging the Hindon river. Budheda drain is 20 km long starting from Nagla Jafrabad and finally meets the Hindon river. On Sunday, 08 May 2022, the District Magistrate organized Sajal Baghpat campaign in ten villages – Nagla Jafrabad, Chopra Maheshpur, Basaud, Gauspur, Dola, Hisavada, Daulatpur, Saidpur, Kaharka, Harsia. Other objectives of this campaign are as follows –
- To conserve more rain water during the rainy season.
- Raising water level in important blocks especially in Baghpat, Pilana and Chhaprauli.
- Renewal and recharge of reservoirs.
- Large scale plantation.
- Water recharge pits with all rebored hand pumps.
On March 26, 2023, under the Sajal Baghpat campaign, the river was cleaned in Teda village and the obstruction was removed.
