Major Schemes
1. National Food Security Act, 2013 (NFSA)
Under this Act, eligible families are provided foodgrains at affordable rates.
Free distribution of foodgrains (wheat, rice) until 2028
Provides food security to a large population of the state.
2. Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY)
Currently, a total of 72,458 gas connections under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana 1 and 2 are operational in Baghpat district (saturation 124 percent). Women above 18 years of age from eligible families whose names appear in the SECC 2011 can apply at the nearest LPG gas agency by filling out the KYC form. A photocopy of the Panchayat ration card, photo ID (Aadhaar card, voter card), and bank passbook are required for the connection. Free gas cylinders are distributed to beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana every year on the occasion of Holi and Diwali.
3. One Nation One Ration Card Scheme
Under this scheme, beneficiaries can access rations using their ration cards anywhere in the country.
This scheme is especially beneficial for migrant laborers.
LPG Cylinders, Petrol, Diesel, and CNG Monitoring and Control:
The department conducts regular inspections and raids to prevent black marketing, illegal storage, and irregular distribution of LPG cylinders, petrol, diesel, and CNG. District administrations and departmental teams conduct inspections at thousands of locations to ensure smooth gas supply.
