Under the Chief Minister’s Mass Marriage Scheme, implemented under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the weddings of 149 couples (comprising 110 Hindu marriages and 39 Muslim *Nikahs*) were solemnized in a dignified and festive atmosphere at Ujjwala Palace, Baraut, in the Baghpat district. The chief guest at the event was Shri K.P. Malik, the State Minister for Forest, Environment, and Zoological Gardens. Held under the leadership and guidance of District Magistrate Ms. Asmita Lal, the ceremony was attended by Chief Development Officer Shri Anil Kumar Singh, Project Director Shri Rahul Verma, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Baraut) Ms. Bhavana Singh, and District Social Welfare Officer Smt. Neelam Singh Chauhan, alongside public representatives and administrative officials, all of whom offered their blessings to the newlywed couples.
A unique highlight of the ceremony was the “Eighth Vow” (*Aathvaan Vachan*), through which all the newlywed couples pledged their active participation in honoring daughters, women’s empowerment, environmental conservation, water conservation, cleanliness, social harmony, and nation-building. This innovative initiative served as an inspiring effort to link the sacred institution of marriage with social responsibility—a move appreciated by all the guests and public representatives present.
Under the scheme, each eligible newlywed couple received financial assistance of ₹1 lakh, essential household items, and the opportunity to begin their new lives with dignity. Attractive decorations, excellent arrangements, warm hospitality reflecting Indian culture, and a beautiful glimpse of the *Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb* (syncretic culture) made the entire event memorable. This innovative initiative by the Baghpat administration has emerged as an inspiring model for the state.
